Working with scopes
The default data in each view page is determined by the filters that are configured for the view by a system administrator. Any additional filtering that you perform is called the scope of the view.
You apply a scope when you:
- Search within a search result
- Switch search methods from a saved search
- Switch search methods within a project folder
- Search for items related to items in the search result
When a scope is active, it is indicated by a bar
shown in top of the navigation pane.
To refine a scope:
- Perform one of the searches in the preceding list. A confirmation dialog prompts whether you want to keep the current scope and refine it.
- If you click YES, the current scope is added as a level to any previous scope. If you click NO, the new scope will replace the previous scope.
To view the current scope levels:
- Click the Current Filter bar. The CURRENT FILTER dialog box will show the scope levels that you have accumulated so far.
To remove the current scopes:
- Click Remove scopes and the view will be reset.
